So why has it become a shift in society? Well not only is it easier for people to stay connected, but many companies and businesses use it as a tool to promote and market their products and/or services, a lot of people actually get paid to be on social media all day long. Its the newest way to get your name out there, and essentially make a profit. Take LinkedIn for example, most recruiting agencies use it as a form to seek out professional individuals in the marketplace.Schools are also utilizing social media and incorporating it into their curriculums. Post-Secondary schools now offer online coarses. Interracting with professors via e-mail has become the easiest way to get in touch with one another.
Social media is becoming a way of life, its easy for us to go online and discover what top stories have made news headlines, or to find the Sunday Night Football scores. We are becoming dependent on social media and if it were somehow taken away, some of us might not know what to do with our daily routine. Social media has now given us the opportunity to express our own beliefs and opinions online, through blogs, status updates or tweets.
Social media is just like television and newspapers, but an easier way for all of us to share ideas, and since when has that been a bad thing? Just be careful how you use it because once you put something on the internet it stays on the internet. It's safe to say that not only has social media shifted modern society, but it is still growing at a rapid rate.

I like how you describes social media as a tool and the comparison of past and future and how social media helped people in getting connected with world . The fact that cant be ignored is how people get addicted to social media.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on that social media is just like TV and news, and I believe that it will soon make TV news and news papers obsolete because On social media, when a story is published, the whole public is able to discuss it, and the real facts usually float to the top of the thread. Not to mention the news on tv is so horribly biased I don't know how anyone can watch it.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with your blog post :) i like how you mention about how social media may be used as a tool in order to get yourself noticed by employers and i liked how you related it to the business field.
ReplyDeleteI agree with what you said about it being a way to market our products and services. Not only that but a way to market ourselves as well. This could be really helpful for when trying to find a job. Also it is quick, convenient and easy to find a job. Instead of going everywhere and handing in applications you can get people to seek you through websites such as LinkedIn.
